The Beginning of Poppy’s Petals

In March 2024, my partner and I discovered that we were expecting our first child. The months that followed were filled with excitement, planning, and dreams for the future. However, on September 5th, 2024, we received the devastating news that our precious baby girl would not be joining us in life. Two days later, our beautiful daughter, Poppy Mae Causier, was born sleeping.

As we prepared for Poppy’s funeral, we quickly realized how difficult it was to find suitable floral arrangements. Many funeral flowers were either very expensive or not designed with babies and young people in mind. Thankfully, we managed to find a beautiful flower bear and some artificial purple poppies from Manchester, with help from our family.

Just weeks later, on October 16th, 2024, my mum also gained her wings and joined Poppy in their resting place. While arranging her funeral, we again faced the challenge of high floral costs, especially for personalized tributes. During this time, I discovered a company that offered flower hire services for funerals — providing stunning arrangements at a fraction of the price. This service allowed my mum to have the most beautiful flowers for her final journey, without the added stress or financial strain. The flowers were delivered and collected with ease, and it brought comfort knowing we didn’t have to watch them deteriorate in the weeks that followed.

In March 2025, tragedy struck once more when my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly. During the arrangements, I suggested using the same flower hire service due to the wonderful experience we’d had before. However, as the funeral was held in Anglesey, I discovered that the nearest provider was based in Liverpool, meaning I had to collect the flowers myself.

Afterward, I began to think about how many families in North Wales must face the same challenges — high costs, limited options, and lack of access to such a supportive service, especially for those unable to travel. When researching local florists, I found that none offered artificial flower hire for funerals or memorials.

This is how Poppy’s Petals was born — inspired by love, loss, and the desire to bring something meaningful and beautiful to families during the most difficult time in their lives.
